History

Success story

Ferrum’s success story began back in 1917, when a small workshop with a metal foundry at Rupperswil in Switzerland’s Aargau Canton started to produce machinery and equipment for the canning industry. The main specialities were filling, can seaming and pitting machines. The company has been owned by the present shareholding family since 1923, and two of Ferrum’s fundamental principles have constantly guided the firm’s activities from the very outset: the range of products and services has constantly been optimised and renewed, while the infrastructure has been consistently adapted to meet the very latest requirements.

Success story

Time and again over the years, Ferrum has shown its great innovative strength by launching new product ideas that have gradually led to the development of our present-day range. The thirties saw washing and ironing machines for large-scale laundries, washing centrifuges and the first chemical centrifuges, with car-washing machinery added in the seventies. Throughout all these developments, Ferrum’s success has been based on precise market analysis to determine specific requirements which are then converted into reliable and costeffective products and services.

Ongoing modernisation and a series of major expansions have always kept Ferrum’s infrastructure in line with the state-of-the-art.
